I had another carrier as my primary esim and in my old phone I had an ATT PrePaid Sim Card. My iPhone migration tried to transfer the physical sim from my old phone to my new phone which then failed. I got a message to call 800-331-0500 but that is for regular ATT. You can absolutely use an eSIM card with your AT&T PREPAID service. However, SIM kits for eSIMs are not offered, so be sure to get an eSIM instead of an AT&T PREPAID SIM kit. You can visit an AT&T store near you to change your current SIM card to an eSIM.
