While it is fine to play it without max gear, the absolut top tier damage comes with having everything maxed. Other classes often need some very important tripods and are kinda fine then. Like DB, needs like 5. For Gunslinger, every single one will push the dmg.Most fun: gunslinger, igniter sorc is really fun on fights that aren't dogshit for it, RE deathblade is fun even if it isn't quite as strong as Surge, artist has been a lot of fun. Least fun: RS soulfist, paladin is kinda boring, Surge has fights that are insanely annoying even if the spec in general is pretty fun..
